DTEK Tyligulska WPP
THE FIRST WIND FARM IN THE WORLD CONSTRUCTED AMID WAR

During russia's attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, DTEK Renewables built the 114 MW phase I of the DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant.

The construction started before the full-scale war, and this WPP was supposed to become the largest in Ukraine, with a 500 MW design capacity.

russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine put the construction on pause. The first successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made us believe in Ukraine's victory.

DTEK Renewables decided to resume the construction of the wind farm. We installed the wind turbines in the shortest possible time, 100 km from the frontline.

FOCUS ON RES –
CLEAN SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Ukraine has a strong renewable energy potential. In particular, intense wind speeds, solar irradiation, good land availability, and much less bureaucratic development phase than elsewhere in Europe.

The country aims to significantly increase the share of renewables in the energy mix, which will require more wind and solar capacities.
Tyligulska WPP

Development of new projects in the energy sector is critical for recovery of Ukraine and will strengthen the energy independence of Ukraine. New renewables capacities will partially compensate the power shortage resulting from the loss and damage of generating capacities, will expedite the decarbonization in Ukraine and facilitate Energy Transition in Europe, increasing Ukraine’s role of an exporter of green electricity long-term
