One Year of DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant: Results and Achievements

A year ago, in May 2023, the Ukrainian energy system was replenished with a new wind power facility - DTEK Tyligulska WPP was commissioned. This wind farm has become a symbol of resilience and faith in the Ukrainian energy sector, as it was built by Ukrainians during a full-scale war just 100 km away from the front line.

The construction and gradual commissioning of wind turbines of the I stage of Tyligulska WPP 114 MW has helped to additionally supply electricity to the south of Ukraine. Thus, during the year of operation, the electricity generated by DTEK Tyligulska WPP amounted to over 333 million kWh.

The power system and power engineers are again going through times of difficulties, challenges and struggling with the consequences of the enemy's continued fierce shelling of power generation facilities, power lines and grids. Accordingly, today, Ukraine needs distributed generation, including wind power, more than ever.

"The construction of the first stage of DTEK Tyligulska WPP has enhanced energy security in the south of Ukraine. DTEK Renewables is putting all its efforts to complete the construction of the wind farm to the designed 500 MW. We are currently negotiating with our partner in this project, the Danish company Vestas. We hope for further support of the green course by the government and assistance in solving the problems of the energy sector that Ukraine is facing today," said Oleksandr Selyshchev, CEO of DTEK Renewables.

DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant became the first wind farm in Ukraine to use the latest technologies. In particular, the plant has installed POD devices to increase the capacity of Ukraine's energy bridges with Europe, which is very important at this time.

The operation of Tyligulska WPP also allowed us to resume its social partnership program with Berezanka and Kobleve local communities in Mykolaiv region. Thus, a solid fuel boiler was purchased to heat the lyceum in Anatolivka village, and windows and doors were replaced with energy-efficient ones in the lyceum in Krasnopillia village. The implementation of two more projects for these communities will start soon. In addition, the company continues to cooperate with children's football teams in Kobleve and Berezanka as part of the "Come on, Let’s play!" project implemented by the Shakhtar Social Charity Foundation with the financial support of DTEK Renewables.

The company is currently preparing for the construction of the second stage of the wind farm. Once all 500 MW of the planned capacity is built, DTEK Tyligulska WPP will become the largest wind farm in Ukraine.
