During the excursion round the plant the guests were shown the equipment and explained the technologies used during the Tryfanovka SPP construction. 37 thousand solar panels, manufactured by JA Solar (China) are installed at the SPP. According to Bloomberg, JA Solar is one of TOP-5 manufacturers of solar energy equipment. ABB inverters, manufactured in Italy, help convert the panels' direct current into alternative current. The rest of the equipment at the solar plant - from aluminium structures to software - is made in Ukraine. Instead of conventional street lighting, we have installed the first solar tree in Kherson region at the plant, and you can also charge your gadgets from it, too.
At the event, DTEK RENEWABLES and the management of Velykooleksandrivskiy District signed a memorandum on social and economic development of the district. The Company undertakes to invest UAH 400,000 in Tryfanovka village infrastructure development in 2017. The grant will be used to repair the water-supply system at Tryfanovka village.
“The Tryfanovka SPP is DTEK RENEWABLES' first project in Kherson Region,” said Ivan Lyakh, the plant manager, in his speech during the event. “Needless to say, we believe it to be a success: it took less than a year to put the idea in reality. The excellent investment environment in the region, support and commitment of the regional and district authorities contributed a lot to that success. In our turn, as a reliable investor, we undertake to support further development of the social and economic infrastructure of the area of our operation.”
“Under the memorandum signed by and between the company and the Regional State Administration, we provided support and facilitated implementation of the project,” said Yevgen Ryschuk, Deputy Head of Kherson State Administration. “We believe that cooperation with investors who really plan to develop solar power industry is one of the priorities for the administration.”
The Tryfanovka SPP is a pilot solar energy project of DTEK RENEWABLES, part of DTEK energy holding company. The plant started generating electricity in August. During its first month of operation, the Tryfanovka SPP supplied 1.2 mln kWh of electricity. Annually, it will generate 11 to 12 mln kWh, which is enough to satisfy the electricity demand of a third of the Velykooleksandrivskiy District or four thousand households.
