On 27 February 2025, DTEK Renewables held an online meeting with representatives of the Berezanka and Kobleve local communities of Mykolaiv region. The meeting was attended by Oleg Solovei, Deputy CEO of DTEK Renewables and Director of Tyligulska WPP, leading DTEK Renewables specialists in various areas, as well as community representatives - heads and employees of local governments, village elders, heads of local NGOs, educational and medical institutions, local media and residents.
The Company’s representatives presented to the local communities a report on DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant’s performance in the areas of environment and safety, land relations and social partnership.
“We have already done a lot of work, travelled a decent path of cooperation and partnership between business and communities when we constructed the first stage of Tyligulska WPP. But the most important achievement is yet to come - the construction of the second stage. When completed, it will be the largest wind farm in Ukraine with a capacity of 500 MW. Thank you for supporting the Tyligulska WPP project and understanding how important it is today. This is our common cause. Ultimately, it depends on each of us whether our country will be able to withstand these difficult times,” said Oleg Solovei, Director of DTEK Tyligulska WPP.
Particular attention was paid to the results of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), which was carried out at the beginning of the Tyligulska WPP project in accordance with the requirements of European legislation, in particular the Århus Convention (Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters, Århus, Denmark, 1998). Thus, sections on ecology and environmental impact, occupational health and safety, land issues, employment opportunities for local residents, and the results of humanitarian aid and social partnership were discussed.
At the end of the presentation, all conference participants were able to ask questions and leave their comments and suggestions. The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the results of DTEK Renewables' work and the company's contribution to the support and development of the local communities.
“We are pleased that DTEK Renewables and our communities continue to cooperate. It is important that the company cares about the well-being of communities by paying all taxes on time and in full, providing jobs to local residents, and implementing social projects despite the fact that Ukraine's energy sector is currently under constant enemy fire. No matter how difficult it is for them, they do not forget about the people living in the project areas. This is the main feature of a socially responsible and reliable business,” said Inna Kretsu, the head of Krasnopillia village.
This is the first meeting of DTEK Renewables with communities in a new online format. All interested local residents could join the conference. The company plans to continue to hold open meetings to discuss the Tyligulska WPP project with the entire community.
Reminding, that the construction of DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant peaked during the most severe shelling of the energy infrastructure. However, thanks to the courage of the project team, the company managed to build the first stage and connect 114 MW to the Ukrainian power grid amid a full-scale war. In early 2025, DTEK attracted a record investment of €370 million in loans from European banks to build the second phase of Tyligulska WPP, which will increase the total capacity of the plant to 500 MW.
