DTEK Renewables generated 1 billion kWh of green electricity in Ukraine in 2023

In 2023, DTEK Renewables supplied 969 million kWh of electricity to the Ukrainian power grid, reflecting a 10% increase over 2022. This significant contribution is sufficient to power approximately 500,000 households.

Despite the ongoing war and occupation of some of its facilities, the company's specialists made efforts to maximise the production of green electricity, thus strengthening the security of the country's energy supply.

In the second year of the full-scale war, DTEK Renewables built 13 wind turbines, thus finalising the construction of phase I of the DTEK Tyligulska wind power plant (WPP). With a total of 19 wind turbines in its phase I, the WPP generated 315.2 million kWh of electricity.

The DTEK Tryfonivska solar power plant (SPP) showed an extraordinary recovery with a three-fold increase in generation following an extended period of inactivity in 2022 due to its occupation and damage. By the end of 2022, the plant had not only resumed operations but also produced 7 MW. Last year, the plant. generate 6.9 million kWh of electricity.

“2023 was difficult for our nation. However, our team stepped up, adding substantial capacity to the grid amidst targeted attacks on the energy infrastructure. We completed phase I of the Tyligulska WPP, restored the Tryfonivska SPP and we remain committed to continuing the development of green energy in Ukraine,” stated Oleksandr Selyshchev, CEO of DTEK Renewables. “Our objective for the coming year is to adopt an updated strategy and commence the phase II construction of the Tyligulska WPP. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for ensuring our security and pledge our unwavering support to our defenders.”

In 2023, DTEK Renewables also paid taxes of UAH 542 million, of which UAH 467.9 million were allocated to the state budget and UAH 74.1 million to local budgets.
