The consequences of the explosion of Kakhovka HPP have had a significant impact on the lives of communities that used to receive drinking water from the Kakhovka reservoir. For example, residents of Pokrovske village community in Nikopol region were left without drinking water.
DTEK Renewables came to the help, purchasing 30,000 bottles of drinking water for the community, as well as 40 tanks 2- or 5m³ each.
"The tragedy of Kakhovka HPP has severely disrupted the normal life of the residents of Nikopol district, who are already suffering from enemy shelling every day. Representatives of the Pokrovske village council asked us for help, and DTEK Renewables responded by supplying a large number of water tanks and drinking water for people. I hope this will help them survive the difficult times until the water supply problem is resolved," says Andriy Lytvynovych, Director of DTEK Pokrovska SPP, which is located nearby.
"Pokrovske community has a longstanding positive experience of cooperation with DTEK Renewables. Since 2019, we have been receiving support within social partnership programs, and during the war, the company has been providing us with humanitarian aid. For example, in February, our community received three powerful generators for the “Points of invincibility” and thousands of food kits from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and DTEK Renewables," says Iryna Lisova, Deputy Head of the Pokrovske village council.
Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, DTEK Renewables has been providing systematic humanitarian assistance to communities where the company's enterprises are located or where Ukrainians internally displaced from the temporarily occupied territories live in large numbers.
Since 2014, the Foundation has provided 13 million food packages to Ukrainians. Over this time, the help from Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, SCM businesses and Shakhtar football club has reached more than 18 million people.
