In January 2023, DTEK received a letter of gratitude from the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Anna Zamazeeva. Mykolaiv region thanks the DTEK company for its significant contribution to the maintenance of the energy industry of Ukraine in the wartime conditions, humanitarian aid to the population of Mykolaiv region, and the active public position.
During the past year, since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion to Ukraine, DTEK has provided systematic humanitarian support to the communities where the company's enterprises are located, as well as to the city of Mykolaiv. Mykolaiv region received support from DTEK Renewables for a total amount of UAH 22 million.
"The war changed the focus of our help to Mykolaiv region from the implementation of peaceful social projects to the provision of urgent humanitarian aid," says Oleg Solovei, director of DTEK Tyligulska wind power plant. – We are grateful to the management of Mykolaiv region for the high recognition of our efforts! We are very pleased that our aid is useful for the people of Mykolaiv. Currently, the company is concentrating all its efforts on the restoration of the destroyed energy infrastructure and DTEK enterprises, as well as on supporting communities. It is important for us to stay close and provide all-round support to Ukrainians who defend our country at the forefront and in the rear. This year, we will continue to do what we can".
The range of assistance from the company is very wide: from military ammunition and cars for the needs of the Armed Forces to the medicines for hospitals, food and hygiene items for evacuation centers in Mykolaiv. Thus, at the very beginning of the full-scale war, DTEK Renewables provided several SUVs and a drone, electric generators, war goods for the needs of the defenders of the city and the region. Almost every month, food products were delivered to the Mykolaiv region for the military, local residents and people who received temporary shelter in the city of Mykolaiv, Berezanka and Kobleve local communities of the region. Thousands of food kits donated as part of the "Saving Lives" program of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, dozens of tons of stewed meat and frozen chicken, cereals, oil, wheat flour and other vital food products were donated to the "Svitli Spravy" foundation in Mykolaiv, as well as in Berezanka and Kobleve village communities.
Aid to the medical institutions was not left out either - the company financed twice the supply of large amounts of medicines for the local hospitals, as well as window glass and other building materials for the restoration of medical buildings that were destroyed by russia. In addition, large amounts of chipboards and other materials were delivered for the restoration of the houses in Mykolaiv.
When Mykolaiv was left without drinking water as a result of the shelling of the water supply system by russia, DTEK together with international partners AFTA Group and the UN Global Compact in Ukraine, handed over to the city an innovative mobile water purification system and more than 300 large-capacity containers for the storage of water. Together with Schneider Electric, the company ensured the delivery of tactical lights and searchlights for the needs of the military. When there was a need for fuel, the company also purchased and handed over fuel cards for obtaining gasoline and diesel fuel for the needs of the region. At the beginning of autumn DTEK Renewables financed the manufacturing and installation of concrete shelters for the city that suffered from the everyday enemy shelling.
In total, more than 282,000 Ukrainians have already received assistance within the "Saving Lives" humanitarian project. These are products, hygiene products and medical equipment for hospitals.
