Denmark prepares to ship the first components of equipment for DTEK Tyligulska WPP

Vestas prepares to ship the first equipment for the construction of the second phase of the Tyligulska wind farm, which is the largest wind farm in Ukraine and the largest private investment in the country's energy sector in its history. The project is being implemented by DTEK at the initiative of its shareholder Rinat Akhmetov.

The first components for the wind turbines of Tyligulska WPP have been manufactured at Vestas' nacelle production plant in Ringkøbing, Denmark. President and CEO of Vestas Henrik Andersen, Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov, and CEO of the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) Peder Lundquist visited the plant to prepare the components for the shipment.

The 181-tonne component houses the turbine’s generator, gears and other mechanical and electrical systems needed to convert wind power into electricity. Completing the key component marks an important step forward towards advancing phase two at Tyligulska WPP.

DTEK announced the construction of the phase II of Tyligulska WPP with a total capacity of 384 MW in January 2025 at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Thanks to the support of EIFO, DTEK raised €370 million in loan financing. The total investment in the project is €450 million.

The second phase of the Tyligulska WPP will add 64 Vestas EnVentus V162-6.0 turbines, increasing the installed capacity of the wind farm to 500 MW, providing clean energy to at least 900,000 households.

The foundations for 56 of the 64 turbines have been completed. The installation of the turbines will start in autumn 2025 and continue in 2026.

Once completed, DTEK Tyligulska WPP will have 83 wind turbines and generate up to 1.7 TWh of electricity annually.
